Happy New Year Fabulous 4th Graders and parents!!
As we begin the new year, we will be starting a new unit on multiplication in math. Please be sure students are practicing their math facts every evening for 10 minutes. This will greatly support their efforts in the classroom!
Reading will take a turn as we begin summarizing nonfiction texts. Reading nonfiction text is an important piece of growing as a learner and successful reader. Have your student practice summarizing a chapter in their AR book each night.
Nonfiction writing will continue, but we will begin a new genre. We will move from informative essays to opinion essays. I am extremely excited to get to know each student more as they will be sharing some of their strongest opinions and supporting them in their writing.
Finally, in social studies, we will begin learning about choices and their consequences within our daily lives as citizens. Sharing how to be positive community members is an exciting part of growing into young adults.
